Parker High School
BIRMINGHAM, AL

New high school and ball fields, track, and practice facilities on a 14 ac site encompassing the existing high school. Sitework costs in excess of $11MM. Responsible for master planning, site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, erosion control, and construction phase planning.

Spain Park High School
Hoover, AL

2001 ABC Excellence in construction award winner. New high school and 140 ac. sports park campus including associated infrastructure, competition ball fields, practice facilities, tennis courts, track and field facilities. Sitework costs in excess of $23MM. Responsible for planning and civil engineering for the 140 ac campus; site layout, roadways, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control.

The Grove Shopping Center
Hoover, AL

600,000 sf shopping center anchored by Target, Kohl's, and a future Lowe's. Sitework involved moving over 2.5 M cy or earth and rock, 2 miles of roadways, relocation of large diameter high pressure gas transmission lines, 80' tall rock spilt face wall, and over 3 miles of storm sewer pipes. Responsible for planning, layout, roadway design, storm water management system, grading, utilities, erosion control, and limited construction management.

Glovis Georgia, LLC - Consolidation Center
WEST POINT, GA

420,000 sf intermodal shipping container transfer facility situated on a 42 ac site. Site encompassed 644 containers spaces, 20 tractor trailer spaces, 44 dock spaces, and over 300 passenger vehicle parking spaces. Responsible for site layout, roadway design, storm water management system, grading, utilities, and erosion control design.

BACKGROUND

Mark Gonzalez and partners founded Gonzalez-Webb Engineering, Inc. in May of 1993. In May of 1998, Gonzalez Webb Strength, Inc. was created through a successful merger with Gay, Strength & Associates. In October of 2000 Gonzalez-Strength & Associates, Inc. was formed.

Mr. Gonzalez is the Engineer of record and oversees the entire Civil Design portion on all projects. This includes project design, project schedule, production, engineering, quality control, and coordination with client and other design teams. Gonzalez-Strength & Associates, Inc. is known for quality and thoroughness of engineering plans, responsiveness to clients concerns, and creative economical design.
